About Long Range Hustle

There’s something cathartic about the way a live show can build a memory that burns so brightly and that’s packed with such a range of emotions from triumph to gloom to absolute joy. Sometimes it’s like the world is moving at half speed as you try to soak up the energy in the room and tuck it in your back pocket for a rainy day. Long Range Hustle are masters of creating that indescribable atmosphere.  Whether it’s at a sold out hometown show, on a tall festival stage with families scattered across the lawn or around a campfire with voices in harmony and single acoustic guitar, this band has a way of making magic happen.

The five-piece indie rock outfit made up of Paul Brogee (co-lead vocals, guitars, violin), Jay Foster (co-lead vocals, keys, synths), AJ Fisico (drums, vocals), Mike Brogee (bass, vocals) and Ryan Pritchard (guitars) grew up in the woods of small town Ontario. You could have found them playing handfuls of musical instruments, singing in community choirs, practicing slapshots and blocking hockey pucks, running summer camps and ultimately performing Long Range Hustle shows throughout high school. College and university flew by as they spent every weekend performing shows and writing music in basement studios. The band’s hard work over the past few years has paid off with cross-Canadian headline tours, shows in the US, and support slots with The Glorious Sons, Matt Mays, and Arkells. You might have heard them on CBC and campus radio stations, or found them on your favourite Spotify or YouTube playlists.

Throughout 2020, LRH channeled their feverish energy that would have been put into live shows towards writing and recording a new album. Production was done virtually across the ocean with Scottish producer/mixer Tony Doogan (Wintersleep, Snow Patrol, Mogwai, Belle and Sebastian). The songs bring a fresh yet almost nostalgic sound to the current indie rock scene. The album is full of emotionally turbulent lyrics, piano driven hooks, striking drums and bass, lush synths, ear catching guitar riffs and unforgettable four-part harmonies - all put together to form a variety of climactic moments. Get ready to add these songs into your playlists alongside artists like Local Natives, Bombay Bicycle Club, Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket and Mt. Joy. The album will be out February 25, 2022 with NYC based label, AntiFragile Music and on their own label for their home territory of Canada.

No matter what roadblocks try to come in front of Long Range Hustle, they put their hands together, shout “1-2-3 Friends!” and drive themselves forward - always determined to leave you with that bright spark to tuck away in your pocket for when you need it on a rainy day.

if this ensemble are not currently on your musical radar, go ahead and google them right now, bookmark their socials, listen to their music, and enjoy some momentary escapism from this harsh reality we currently find ourselves in.
Canadian outfit bring the same soaring sound as Kings Of Leon to their latest pop-rock belter.
Long Range Hustle have a strange ability to create arena sized rock anthems that sneak up on you. Their new single “Comeback Kid” is a blast of anthemic alternative rock in tune with Manchester Orchestra, Young the Giant, and Glorious Sons, and marks an exciting shift from their earlier indie folk stylings.
With this exquisite and refreshing blend of melodies and lyrics, they explore the at times tiring and weary nature of life and remind us to be strong and ready to keep on going for it’s all there for the taking, but we must push on.
